La Milagrosa Park

La Milagrosa Park

Nestled between the Chapala-Jocotepec highway and the lake is the charming Parque de los Milagros. Just a five-minute walk from the malecon, this local favorite offers an idyllic place to relax. Although smaller than its counterparts, the park never ceases to amaze with its family-friendly facilities.

The park features a wide variety of recreational equipment for children. Slides and swings abound, creating a perfect play area for the little ones. These facilities are complemented by a large green area. With its lush lawns and trees, planted by generations of Chapala residents, it is a natural paradise in the heart of the city.

The Parque de los Milagros is an open-air space, free of timetables. This means that you can visit it whenever you want. However, it is advisable to bring something to eat and drink before your visit. Nearby stores may be a bit far away, so come prepared to fully enjoy your stay.

If you are looking for a recommendation, consider a weekend visit. Saturday or Sunday evenings are especially nice. Specifically, between six and seven in the evening can be ideal. This time slot allows you to park comfortably and explore the park. You can choose your favorite spot, whether it’s a park bench, the fence separating the park from the lake, or under the shade of a tree in the grass. Once you’ve found the perfect spot, you can sit or lie down and relax while waiting for the sun to set.

Visitors come to Milagrosa Park for countless reasons, but the sunset is certainly one of the main attractions. As the sun dips below the horizon, it paints the sky with shades of red and purple. This visual spectacle is mirrored in Lake Chapala, which reflects these vibrant colors. Together they create a magical tableau that looks like a portal to another world.

I highly recommend a visit to this park, if only to witness this spectacle at sunset. It is sure to leave an indelible mark on your memory and your heart.
