The old Hacienda del Lago is located in the pre-Columbian fishing village of Ajijic, Mexico, less than a 30-minute drive from the Guadalajara International Airport. The village is encircled by the Sierra
Madre Mountain range, and situated on the shores of Lake Chapala, Mexico’s largest freshwater lake. This spectacular estate is nestled in the village a mere two blocks from Lake Chapala and four
blocks from the Plaza.
The Hacienda was designed by Eugene Fortun in an authentic Mexican architecture, which is breathtaking both inside and out. Mr. Fortun has stated that the Hacienda is one of the top 5 authentic Haciendas
in all of Jalisco.
With over 7,000 square feet of living space and 3,200 square feet of the courtyard area, the sprawling hacienda is a perfect balance of beauty and peace. The Hacienda is well known and touted as the
most amazing residence in the Village. During the past three years, additional remodeling and updating have been completed to restore it to its original magnificence.
It has been an awesome experience to slowly watch the masterpiece come alive. It was as if the Hacienda was waking up after a long winters nap.

Last year we reached out once again to Eugene Fortun that we were ready to complete the last chapter of the Hacienda renovation. It was time for the crown jewel, the Hacienda
Chapel, to be added. Many guests have described the Hacienda as having experienced solitude and serenity and as a sanctuary.
The renowned artist, Enrique Velazquez, worked his magic as he had done in the Hacienda. Roger Huffine, Houston designer, once again attended to every detail including
the custom designed pews and the antique pump organ. It is exactly as we had hoped for, a combination of heaven and earth. The Hacienda greets our family, friends and
colleagues with open arms and an experience of a lifetime.
